Research interests

My research centers on examining the consumer search process of high-ticket items. I am interested developing machine learning techniques for inference of consumer perceptions, preference dynamics, and decision heuristics. I have published research exploring automobile purchase decisions using incentive compatible unstructured elicitation, complexity controlled optimization, and adaptive decompositional tasks. I am currently studying the role of sales agents in the search process when preferences are learned/constructed (as opposed to static). Additionally, I am developing natural language processing tools to understand dynamics of brand perceptions, particularly in response to negative brand events.
